Jane Hammond (* 1950) is an American artist who works in the fields of print, color, and sculpture to create visual art that is often based on dreams and literature. She is best known for her collaborations with authors and other artists, in which she translates her written works into fine art. Her work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., the National Gallery of Natural History in London, and the John Freire Museum in Paris.
For decades, Hammond limited her art to the Image Bank she created in the 1970s and 1980s, but lately she has moved beyond Image Banks. In 1977 she moved to New York and had her first solo exhibition at Exit Art in New York in 1989. Since then, her popularity has grown significantly, and she has recently exhibited at the American Museum of Natural History in London, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., and the John Freire Museum in Paris. Hammond has created more than 276 paintings, including a large-scale sculpture of a woman's face, as well as a series of photographs.
The Colonial Revival Lincoln Hotel (1923) is in excellent condition and despite its appearance, the building is still in operation. On Sunday I took a picture of it, people were going in and out and the ground floor had been minimally altered. Hammond offers a greater proximity to Chicago than its neighbors on the Chicago - Indiana side, but it offers a smaller city feel.

Every year the Dunes Harvest Festival is held at the historic Chellberg Farm and Every year, it's a great time for the Hunter on the Moon Festival, an annual festival of food, music, crafts, food trucks and entertainment that takes place on July 1 and 2 in the heart of Lake County, just a few miles from Indiana Dune National Lakeshore. The popular festival attracts several thousand visitors and offers traditional music, crafts and agricultural performances. It is one of Indiana's most popular festivals and the largest annual Thanksgiving celebration in Indiana.
The Battle of Tippecanoe was fought in 1811 by the United States troops under General George Washington and the growing Indian Confederation against the Tecumseh Indians. The battle took place on the shores of Lake Michigan in Porter County, Indiana, north of Chicago. It was the beginning of what is sometimes called the "TecumSEh War," which continued until the war of 1812. Porter County is named after the Battle of Porter and Valparaiso, which took place near the port of Val Parcanso in Chile.
Porter County is located in a beautiful landscape that offers both rural and urban atmosphere. Lake, Porter and LaPorte Counties are part of the Dunes National Forest, the largest national park in the USA. Lake and Porter are located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Lake Porter County, Indiana.
Newton and Jasper County are home to Fair Oaks Farms, one of the largest dairies in the country. Each cow produces 10 gallons of milk a day, and in total they produce enough milk to supply the city of Chicago with its milk for the year, as we all will.
